Education Assistance Committee

The best investment we can ever have is in the education of the young talent who did not have the financial resources to carry through.  Such an investment has a perpetual effect, a never-ending virtue, quite cyclic in nature. And no reward is more gratifying than having contributed toward the realization of the dreams of a young individual in the pursuance of professional education. This is what we are determined to achieve by launching the Educational Assistance Program. We wish to pool all the possible resources from within the community to provide sponsorships to those deserving students who have demonstrated ample potential for growth and advancement, but they are admittedly constrained in resources to pursue further education.

Purpose

The Program is developed to help such needy students who have shown adequate academic performance and who have the capacity for advancement. The Committee shall generate resources through donations including charitable donations (Sadaqat), Zakat, and others forms of financial commitment.

Target Group of Recipients

We plan to provide sponsorships to those students of grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 students in the Pakistani schools of Kuwait who have demonstrated their capacity for furthering their studies, but do not have the financial resources so as to continue.

Award Procedures

We are announcing this program to initiate a fund which shall be maintained by the Treasurer, KPFA as a separate head. We will announce these awards in all the Pakistani schools in Kuwait. We will use an application form in which a student’s particulars, academic performance, family’s financial situation, and related information shall be solicited together with relevant documentation. The information shall be scrutinized and verified by the Educational Assistance Committee.

Sponsorship Scheme

There are two ways to contribute to this program: (a) sponsoring one student, or/and (b) making an open contribution. In the first case, the sponsor shall pay KD 250.000, a continuing commitment on a year-to-year basis, which shall be awarded to each award recipient. The sponsor shall be provided full particulars of the student, but the student shall not be informed about the sponsor. The sponsor shall be given two periodic progress reports every year. A sponsor may pay the yearly expenses in full or may pay through quarterly installments. Open donations shall be pooled together and administered strictly for sponsorship purposes.

Payment Mode

You may donate the money to any of the EAC members or to the Treasurer, KPFA whose e-mail addresses are given below. You may also deposit the money directly in account number 01101517449 of the Kuwait Finance House, which is to be maintained exclusively for the EAC Fund.

The task of the Committee is to generate funds; solicit and review applications, award sponsorships, maintain records, manage all other administrative and logistic affairs related to each sponsor and each sponsored student, and prepare annual report for the KPFA to be announced through the Web page of the Association.
